Before meeting Coach Melissa, I had thought I was just destined to be in a bigger body. Growing up I was always taller and wider than most, even though I was relatively active and participated in various sports.
Later on in high school I’d soon learn that part of the reason for my larger frame was due to an endocrine condition that made weight loss an increased challenge. After receiving my diagnosis and beginning my medication for my condition, I was desperate for quick results that would help me lose weight and, theoretically, help manage my condition.
I often resorted to diets and online workout videos that, looking back, were unsustainable and the complete opposite of beginner friendly. Any weight that I had lost would come back in double. Needless to say, after nearly 10 years of this back and forth cycle I was extremely frustrated and on the verge of all out giving up on my body.
But as fate would have it, right around this time I heard about Melissa through some good friends who couldn’t have been more eager to recommend her program and talk about how successful it was. Almost immediately after enrolling and talking with Melissa, I knew this time would be different.
With Melissa it always felt simple, safe, and it truly works without any gimmicks. Personally, my goals coming into this program was to lose fat, increase flexibility, and reduce this feeling of fatigue that I constantly had. And let me tell you, within just twelve weeks I have seem phenomenal strides in each and every one of these goals. I lost 15 pounds (throughout the holiday season might I add), can now touch my toes (something that I haven’t been able to do since I was 10), and have increased energy and stamina that translates both in my everyday tasks and my workouts. For example, before starting this program I had tried to pick up running, but I wouldn’t even be able to run from one mailbox to the next without losing my breath.
These 12 weeks with Melissa however have been a game changer, and I can now run/walk for three miles and not feel like I am going to faint. If anything, I kind of enjoy it (which trust me, is something I thought I would never say about running). Not only this, but the lower back pain I used to have from being at a sedentary desk job all day has vanished. And even better, I also saw improvement in the symptoms of my endocrine condition, especially when it came to the quality of my skin and my hair.
Best of all, this program is sustainable and designed to fit within whatever lifestyle you have. I’m big on traveling, but the exercises from this program are ones you can do anywhere. And when it comes to food, Melissa’s philosophy isn’t necessarily to eliminate but rather to find balance in your meals. Using her strategies I was able to travel on vacation, eat what I wanted, not feel guilty afterwards, and still lose fat.
